About the Course
The day with Isla will focus on the fundamental need for an animal to feel safe and how emotions influence behaviour. Using her expertise in zoology, canine biology and learning theory, Dr Isla Fishburn will talk you through how to achieve canine wellness, the different causes of wellness, what is normal, what is abnormal and how dysfunctional behaviour can occur. She will also cover the vital importance of diet for life and health and how food and communication are linked. Natural competition will also be discussed.
Dr Isla Fishburn, BSc Zoology and MBiolSci and PhD in Conservation Biology, is a holistic canine behaviourist. Her experience as a conservation biologist taught her that conservation needs to begin at home. Isla has worked with wolves, wolf hybrids and domestic dogs for several years. She is on the panel of experts for the Dog Welfare Alliance and is a member of the Association of INTODogs (Intuitive Natural Training for Owners and Dogs). She is one of the few behaviourists affiliated with the International School of Canine Practitioners (ISCP). Isla is a qualified Zoopharmacognosy practitioner www.kachinacaninecommunication.co.uk
Tickets cost £75, to include a delicious finger buffet lunch, or £60 excluding lunch. Plus you will be able to enjoy the free “Animal Magic” Exhibition running at Fisherton Mill through July.
