Fibre artist Carla Taylor creates contemporary sustainable wool sculptures inspired by wildlife and the British Countryside. She has a studio, the Mousehole Woolery, in the heart of Dorset. She enjoys passing on her skills to others through her very popular needled felting workshops here at Fisherton Mill.

3rd February 2018 - 10am to 4pm

Country Hares & Foxes Needle Felting Workshop

Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting, sharing lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way as well as her love and passion for local Dorset and British wool.

By the end of the workshop you will have created your own country hare or fox out of beautiful wool ready for you to take home or, if you can part with them, to give to someone as a special gift. 

A fun, creative and inspiring day with friendly, like minded people in a cosy, creative setting!

This workshop is suitable for both beginners or those with some experience of needle felting.  The price of the workshop includes all materials and a needle felting kit, that you get to keep, take home and carry on creating with.

Vintage Spring Flowers Needle Felting Workshop

Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting as well as sharing lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way including how to work around wire to create your own unique vintage inspired flowers out of beautiful wool and vintage style finds, ready for you to take home or, if you can part with them, to give to that someone special as a gift! 

All materials will be included, as well as a needle felting kit that you can keep, take home and carry on creating with.

29th September 2018 - 10am to 4pm

Woodland Squirrels Needle Felting Workshop

Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the techniques of needle felting.  This technique uses special barbed needles to repeatedly stab and sculpt wool fibres together to create 2 & 3D forms, transforming beautiful loose sheeps' fleece into your own unique woodland squirrel. 

On this one day workshop, Carla will share with you lots of tips and tricks she has learnt along the way.  You will learn to build individual shapes, join shapes together using felting needles and your hands to mould, shape and sculpt the wool. There will also be demonstrations of the principles of building and covering wire armatures.

By the end of the workshop you will have created your own woodland squirrel ready for you to take nom.

Festive Christmas Robins Needle Felting Workshop

Fibre artist Carla Taylor of the Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the basic techniques of needle felting including the more advanced techniques of learning how to cover and work around the wire legs to create your own beautiful festive robin to decorate your home or give to someone special as a gift!

This workshop is suitable for those with some experience of needle felting basic shapes and the price includes all materials and a needle felting kit that you get to keep, take home and carry on creating with.
