Continental Knitting
Thursday 26th September - 7-9pm

Learn how to knit ‘continentally’, which many people find faster than the English method and which is also a real advantage when working with more than one colour, as it saves having to keep stopping to untangle them! Suitable for knitters who are confident with casting on, casting off, and knit & purl stitches.
If you already have a pair of 4mm needles please bring them with you; otherwise needles can be purchased on the day. Yarn will be provided and is included in the price of the workshop.

Introduction to Tunisian Crochet
Thursday 10th October  - 7-9.30pm

Tunisian Crochet is an intriguing combination of knitting and crochet, which is a fun alternative to both, and easy to pick up. Join this afternoon workshop to learn the basic technique and begin a straightforward project - either a cosy cowl or a cushion cover in one of two stitch patterns.
Suitable for complete beginners, although some previous knowledge of knitting or crochet would probably help.

Knit Your Own Socks (two-part workshop)
Thursday 17th & Thursday 31st October - 7-9.30pm both days

Join this fun, two-part workshop and learn how to make your own socks ‘in the round’ - either on double-pointed needles or a specially-designed circular needle - which means that there is absolutely no sewing up to be done afterwards! Participants can choose from a wide selection of self-patterning sock wool, which does the colourwork for you, or alternatively opt for a thicker yarn to make a Christmas stocking with contrast heel and toe. Hand-made socks make wonderful presents, but knitting them carries a health warning, as sock-knitting can become addictive!

Suitable for knitters who have already worked basic Brioche Knitting, and are familiar with ‘brk’ and ‘brp’ stitches.

One -to-One Tuition

If you are unable to come to a workshop on a particular date, Heather does offer one-to-one tuition which she can tailor to whatever you are interested in learning.

Knit and Knatter Group

The B2K K&K is an opportunity for knitters of all ages and levels of experience to get together informally over a cup of tea/coffee for a Knit and a Knatter. These are purely social gatherings so no tuition is provided. For those wanting to learn to knit, or a little refresher on certain techniques, please have a look at our workshops page. Or why not book some friendly one-to-one tuition with Heather for as little as £7.50 per 15 mins at the Born to Knit studio at Fisherton Mill.

Heather runs two ‘Knit & Knatter’ groups, both in Salisbury. For information about dates, times and arrangements, please see the Born to Knit website.
