An exhibition by Rob Hames

Saturday 22nd August – Saturday 26th September 2020

Fisherton Mill is delighted to welcome back Wiltshire-born artist Rob Hames whose last exhibition at the Mill in 2018 was a great success. Rob was formally an art teacher but now works as a full time artist producing work which is immediate and instinctive, full of vigorous brush strokes and bold colours.

Rob is usually a plein air artist, working in situ, recording a specific moment whilst in the landscape. This exhibition entitled #PAUSE is a reflection of the current situation of an "existence on hold".

"Lockdown led to a reinvestigation of the local, re-emergence of nature, colour and existence in a condensed geography. My usual landscape explorations upon Salisbury Plain gave way instead to walking the city with sketchbook, and views from windows influencing this body of work".

You can view and buy a selection of the pieces from this exhibition on our Online Shop.

Meet the Artist - You can meet Rob and find out more about his work each Saturday throughout the exhibition.

Admission is free. Opening hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm; Saturday, 10am-
4pm (opening hours subject to change, please check website)
