Skin & Blisters

An exhibition by Rebecca Harris & Elizabeth Lee

18 April - 16 May 2026

Rebecca Harris
In their first joint show Skin and Blisters brings together the work of artist sisters Elizabeth Lee and Rebecca Harris. Though their artistic practices are distinct, both share a deep appreciation for—and celebration of—the natural beauty of England's Southwest.

Rebecca is an illustrator whose vibrant and intricately detailed work celebrates the natural world through colour, pattern, and form. After gaining her MA in Illustration from Falmouth University, she established her practice as a professional illustrator, creating artwork that blends both traditional mixed media techniques and digital illustration using iPad and Procreate.
Her illustrations feature regularly in Breathe magazine, and she has produced a range of puzzles for the publisher Skittledog. Rooted in a regular practice of nature journaling, Rebecca's work captures the symmetry, rhythm, and repetition found in flora and fauna, transforming natural motifs into kaleidoscopic compositions. Through a deep engagement with pattern and detail, her art invites viewers to slow down and explore the intricate balance and beauty of the natural world.

Elizabeth qualified in Art and Design at Stroud College and since then has focussed her work on ceramic sculpture and production, and painting. She enjoys playing with texture and colour, often adding a sense of the uncanny into her work through subversion of tone and shape, or simply the addition of an unexpected object. Her influences range from surrealist painters such as Ithel Colquhoun and Pablo Picasso as well as other 20th century painters including John Piper, Frida Kahlo and Paul Nash. Her ceramic influences include Ruth Duckworth, Wendy Farley and Mo Jupp.

She is delighted by the opportunity to exhibit alongside her sister, Rebecca.
