Two Shores, Two Oaths
30 April 2027 - 15 May 2027
The exhibition celebrates the millennium of the birth of William the Conqueror with themes based around the oath of Harold Godwinson made in Touques in 1064, leading to the Norman Conquest of 1066, immortalised by the Bayeux Tapestry, and the oath of Salisbury made by William the Conqueror in 1086. Two shores, two oaths, a conquest, ships, a tapestry, landscapes: many sources of inspiration for this artistic competition and exhibition.
Ten British artists and ten French artists will be selected by two panels representing Salisbury and Touques, with at least 3 prizes to be awarded including a top prize of 3000euros. Exhibiting artists will be invited to a prize giving event in Touques where winners will be announced. Applications for a place in this prestigious exhibition are now open with further details and application forms available on Fisherton Mill's website (click here).
Please note that exhibitions are shown in our Main Gallery on the first floor which is only accessible via stairs. Read more about accessibility at Fisherton Mill here.
